Who are we?

Ageas Re is a Brussels-headquartered reinsurance division, benefiting from the financial strength of the holding company ageas SA/NV, on which balance sheet it underwrites, as well as the ratings of the Ageas Group (S&P: A+ / Fitch: AA- / Moody's: A1).

In 2022, Ageas Re started to write Non-Life third-party reinsurance which as of January 2025 is at EUR 174 million GWP in force.

Ageas Re accepts reinsurance business from Ageas Group companies and from joint venture partners since 2015.
 
Ageas Re is a growth engine of Ageas.

Renewal Highlights

​Ageas Re reports on a successful renewal campaign at 1/1/2026 against the backdrop of a rapidly softening market. The main areas of growth were Non-CAT, Specialty Lines and Structured Reinsurance.

Our ambitions

Ageas Re serves, from its two offices in Brussels and Zurich, clients with their P&C reinsurance needs with a target GWP of EUR 0.8 to 1 billion in the long term.
 
Ageas Re seeks to be a solid European based reinsurance operation offering solutions in all main lines of business.
